If you"ve had your fun using Google"s StreetViewer and feel the need to create your own maps hop on over to WriteMaps, a free sitemap creating app. While site maps aren"t as glamorous as globes and satellite pics, they are useful in their own right. WriteMaps is completely web-based so there"s nothing to download-- you just need a working internet connection. Building your own sitemap is quite easy. Once you"ve signed up you"ll be given your personal sitemaps page which lists the maps you"ve created; new users will be able to start a new map with a couple clicks. Pick a title and add pages; WriteMaps has an autodraft save so you didn"t busy your head about losing work in progress. There"s also a nifty zoomslider for better viewing. It"s free to use, but it"s only compatible with Firefox.
