ShrinkTheWeb is a new service aimed at webmasters, which provides a free and powerful tool for generating and displaying website thumbnails of any website, on any website. This service claims to be more stable and efficient than existing sites that perform the same general function. ShrinkTheWeb also has ten dedicated servers for the site and plans to add more as need increases. While there is no charge for the basic service, users are required to create an account before using ShrinkTheWeb. You can capture a standard screenshot-style thumbnail by simply entering the desired site’s URL, or if you pay for a premium account, you have more options like specific screen capture or making a full-length thumbnail that shows the entire length of the page, from top to bottom. ShrinkTheWeb.com does not place a daily or monthly limit on how many thumbnails any user can generate, and provides a community forum for discussing tech support or uses for ShrinkTheWeb.

| Why it might be a killer | |||

The fact that this is a free service with no limits whatsoever on thumbnails will obviously make it much more appealing that sites that make you pay for the same service, or free sites that limit usage by unpaid members. For those who choose to be Pro members, the full-length thumbnail is a really neat feature that you do not see often.

| We were looking at 6 different paid providers for our search engine. After around a month with shrinktheweb we have now found our provider and best of all it's free. My stats -> Fetched 35494.Amazing in a little over a month with all my requests everything has went smoothly without a hiccup. | ShrinkTheWeb (STW) is a great service, especially if you are a blogger. I have used STW on several occasions and even had the pleasure to talk with Brandon (the brains behind STW) a few times through e-mail.As such, I know that in the "Some Questions" part of this review it was asked whether ShrinkTheWeb is going to capture flash elements. Well, the answer is YES. | This service provided by Shrink The Web is excellent. I have used several other companies in the past for providing website thumbnails. They were slow and not very reliable to say the least. I recently found Shrink The Web and started using their services for my thumbnail images. When I linked up I requested over 1600 images for HorseFYI.com. The requests were captured flawlessly in no time at all. Now the captured images load very fast and are of great quality. Thank you for this keeping the basic service free FOREVER | ||

| Hello,I found this review in my referrer logs and was glad to see KillerStartups post this positive note about our site. ;)I did want to mention that our service DOES capture Flash elements in the standard sized and custom-sized screenshots. However, it's the full-length thumbnails where we cannot yet capture Flash elements.
