Frustrated by Viacom’s lawsuit against YouTube? Check out Delutube, a spin-off site which allows you to access recently deleted videos from YouTube. Site visitors simply make an initial stopover at YouTube, check the ID of the desired deleted video, and then paste the same number into the search bar on Delutube. Because YouTube displays its characteristic “This video has been removed due to terms of use violation” message for up to a few hours before the actual clip is removed, Delutube cleverly skirts legal issues by simply playing the videos from the YouTube server. The downside to this methodology is that Delutube users can only view an extremely newly removed video before it is yanked from Delutube as well.

Why it might be a killer
Currently, Delutube is the only method of viewing deleted YouTube videos, so competition is currently nonexistent. The ID search is fast and simple; just cut and paste the desired video’s information from YouTube to Delutube.
Some questions
Is this site really worth it if users can only search for videos removed from YouTube within an extremely narrow window of time? How would someone even know that the video had been removed within such a small time period? The site is rather poorly designed considering that it deals with visual information; are their plans for an interface upheaval?
