In their own words
"Buying and selling with videos: a great experience for buyers and good way for sellers to make money. That was the idea, but within a millisecond we realised that there's already one place where millions of people sell online: eBay. So, rather than build a whole new 'video bazaar' from scratch we thought: "why don't we help eBay sellers sell more and make more by helping them put videos in their listings?"
It's surprising how few sellers include videos in their listing, especially when it can be such a powerful way of persuading buyers to bid. So we talked to some sellers and worked out what would suit them: it had to be beguilingly simple. So with that in mind, off we went.
After a bit more thinking we realised that 'video bazaar' quite neatly boils down to vzaar (pronounced viz-ZAR) – and vzaar.com sounds, well, rather natty and very webby. And that, as they say, is that. Concept and name sorted. We hope you like it as much as we do."
Why it might be a killer
There are still some of us out there that are skeptical of buying products online- even if they have a good-looking photo. The addition of videos to eBay items is brilliant and will ensure more purchases at better prices. It also encourages honesty in selling and trust in the exchange.
Some questions
How can the buyer be sure that the video has not been touched up?
