Twt.fm - Tweet Your Music

It seems there’s nothing Twitter can’t do. They’ve managed to allow us to tweet images, videos, and now: music. Well, not exactly. With Twt.fm, you’ll be able to stream your favorite music using the Last.fm API and some smart Twitter account masking.

All you have to do is type in the artist, the track, and your Twitter username, and you’re ready to go. The site will create a look-alike page with your Twitter layout, with the music you want to share with your friends. Is it exciting? Not that much. Is it useful? Kind of. You’ll be able to share your Twitter look-alike page with your buddies, making it easy to share more music with them.

It would be nice to be able to share the music directly through Twitter, and I’m pretty sure that’s coming in the short-term. Until that time, we’ll have to settle for Twt.fm, and it’s not that bad of a settle. Who knows, this could be the first step towards changing the way we use Twitter to share content.

It’s a great idea that with some fine tuning could be huge.

Why not use the user’s Twitter account? Doesn’t having to go to a third party site hurt the user experience?
