TubeSpy - Spy On Other YouTube Viewers

When you visit YouTube’s homepage, you see a “Videos being watched right now” widget at the top of the page, inviting you to check out what other YouTube visitors are viewing at any particular moment. TubeSpy expands on this idea by dedicating an entire web application to showing you what other people are currently watching on YouTube. On TubeSpy’s front page, you see a scrolling series of thumbnails on the left of your screen, showing you what other people are currently watching on YouTube. If any peak your interest, you can hit the pause button to stop the stream and watch the video right then – it will appear on the large screen in the middle of the page, with a selection of related video thumbnails to its lower right. If you’d like to save the video for later, you can click the plus sign to add it to your “Recent Saved” list. You can easily toggle between the spy stream, a list of the Last 15 videos watched on YouTube, or your Recent Saved list.

Unlike on YouTube’s homepage, you can see a video someone else is watching and save it for later, if you don’t have time to watch it that second or want to continue following the list of what others are watching. It’s also nice that you don’t have to jump to a new page to watch a video you select – it will stream from the same page you’re watching the TubeSpy feed on.

Will many people bother using TubeSpy when you can just check out what other people are currently watching straight from YouTube’s home page? Are the added features (like viewing a video on the same page as the “what others are watching” list or the save-for-later option) enough to make this site a hit?
