Tiltomo is a visual search engine that will empower you to look up images related to any given picture. This solution is currently in beta, and for the time being it carries out searches using two sample databases from Flickr.
Getting started couldn’t be easier, as you just furnish any keyword that interests you or click on the “random” button. Once the results are displayed, you will be able to employ any of the two featured “Find Similar” modes and proceed from there. These are a subject search, and a color/texture analyzer. In actuality, the subject search also takes into account color and texture, but the theme is prioritized.
Other particularity of the theme search is that you can visualize images that come from a specific photographer. In order to do so, you simply click on the link that reads “Show only images from the reference photographer”.
This new resource is clearly in a preliminary stage, but the basic idea can already be grasped and understood. It will be interesting to see the contour it eventually acquires, and how comprehensive can the search process become in the future.
