RattleBox.com - Video e-Cards You Would Not Show Nana

    rattlebox

Hallmark cards not doing it for you? Need something a little edgier, something with more pizzazz? RattleBox has got your answer. Think Youtube plus greeting cards. What you get are video ecards which can be personalized with your own message. The pickings are pretty wide ranging: you’ve got videos for house warmings, for dates, for birthdays, for apologies, for a happy holiday season. Viewer be warned, however, as some of the cards tend to tilt towards the racy side of life and would definitely not be something you’d want to send to granny dearest. There are three easy steps to follow: select a card, add your own message and ship it off to family or post it to your Myspace, Facebook or blog.

    In their own words

Rattlebox was created to fill the void for people who wouldn't send out traditional e-cards. Rattlebox provides a truly unique communication tool unlike anything else currently available on the net. Users can make fully customized video e-cards or choose from the existing collection. Rattlebox cards can be posted on blogs and social networking sites, and sent via email and IM.

Why it might be a killer

These cards are definitely more lively and entertaining than those cutsie bits you get on Hallmark.com. Not everyone’s cup of tea but there is a huge audience in love with these sorts of videos that will just eat this up. It’s clever, funny and a good alternative to other card sites.

    Some questions

As everyone uses IM or email or a social network to send funny or touching clips or bits they find on the internet, is this sort of site necessary? Will people use it? Or would they rather simply find out where the videos came from, and if so, will the whole sign up process deter them?
