RadioWeave.com - Your Own Social Radio

    radioweave

As the title of the review puts it, this is a new service whereby you will be able to create a social radio. That is, by complying with an easy registration process you can add and remove channels which you are keen on, be them music, news or any other type of channel you could think of.

Getting started is very easy – you simply choose a couple of music, news and humor channels and then choose people you’d like to follow, and then you can start listening right away. Of course, it is always possible to add or remove channels at a later time should your tastes changes and you outgrow the Jonas Brothers for good.

Note that RadioWeave also has a feature which can eventually turn out to be useful but which is a bit bizarre as its stands right now, owing to its implementation. You see, the site lets you follow a Twitter account and have its tweets read aloud to you. The voice is highly reminiscent of that employed by 16 bit computers like the Atari ST or the Commodore Amiga. Having grown up with them I found it quite amusing, but I think younger users will find it a bit distracting.

    In their own words

“With RadioWeave, you have complete control over your listening experience, which can include your favorite songs, real-time tweets from friends and entertaining podcasts, as well as automatic breaking news updates and local weather and traffic reports all rolled into a blended audio stream. RadioWeave also offers great ways to create and share your own content - click on the create tab to get started.”

Why it might be a killer

Social sites are the “in” thing today. Any resource that mines them is halfway there, and when the service revolves around something that people of all ages are known to love then it is all the more appealing.

    Some questions

Is Facebook supported here? What about Orkut?
