In their own words
Preloadr is a free service providing image manipulation functions linked with your Flickr account. It is designed to pre-process photos uploaded to Flickr. Based on the unique technology of nexImage and the public API of Flickr, this platform connects to your Flickr account and brings powerful image manipulation tools right to your browser. No special installation and no additional registration is needed. Our main goal ...is to extend the fantastic capabilities of the Flickr platform with state-of-the-art image editing functions and make all that accessible from any computer connected to the internet. You can use this service to enhance your photos before sharing them with your friends.
Why it might be a killer
Flickr is the most popular photo hosting site on the internet. Any tool to enhance the quality of the photos on this site is a killer. I especially appreciated the focus of the site to do one thing really well and to stick with that use.
Some questions
How are they marketing this tool, as they are not getting high traffic volumes? Is this tool officially supported by Flickr? How are they making a profit? Is there a reason they are not linked to other photo hosting sites, as there are many out there and everyone wants to optimize their photos. Why is this a pre-process technology?
