PopScreen.com - Bookmark Online Videos & Web Shows

    popscreen

PopScreen advertises itself as “the bookmarking tool for online videos and live web shows”, and that is a very clear definition indeed. Using this new system you will be able to access all your favourite viral videos, webcasts and clips found on the web in a single, centralized location.

In this way, you will have the chance to watch your favourite videos without having to search for them every single time. And when it comes to live web shows, you have the option of being notified when they are on air.

Founder Kevin Nguyen told us that the inspiration behind PopScreen is to let people do more with videos than merely watching them. He used a phrase that conveys the essence of the startup splendidly: “Our goal is to do for videos what Google did for websites, rather than what YouTube did for videos”. That is, to come up with something which is more than just a static directory.

Future updates will include an auto-import functionality, whereas a series of widgets and apps are also underway. These will include Facebook, Boxeee and iPhone apps.

PopScreen is currently in private beta, but 500 KillerStartups readers will be able to test it. Simply use the invite code “KillerStartups” to gain access, and start bringing the best content on the web together.

    In their own words

“PopScreen is more than just a place to watch videos and live web shows it's a tool for people to collect and share them from all across the web. We're a quick and simple way to bookmark your favorite online videos and live web shows from hundreds of sources in one location. We make it possible to grab videos to watch them later and never waste time searching for them again. You can keep tabs on your favorite live web shows and get notified when they are on air. You can even share and discover videos between friends, family and colleagues effortlessly.”

Why it might be a killer

Such a service makes for having centralized access to the best video content found online, and also share it with friends and colleagues whenever you want. In this way, both professional and leisure uses are fully accounted for.
