PicPanda is a free file storage and sharing site that allows you to store up to 5MB of photos, images, and Flash files in an easily accessible online account. Upload whatever you like and store it in your own online gallery which you can sort to suit your needs. If you want even easier uploading, download the PicPanda tool bar and upload images straight from your browser. With the toolbar you also have instant access to your image gallery. This is a simple web-based application which does exactly what it promises to do in a well-designed and easy to use environment. PicPanda currently supports the following file extenstions: JPEG, JPG, BMP, GIF, PNG, TIF, TIFF, and .SWF, so rest assured that whatever your image, you can upload it.

The site is really easy to use and people will like the addition of the downloadable toolbar which makes uploading and gallery-viewing a real cinch.

As is the case with many file sharing and storage sites, it is difficult to discern their business model. There is advertising on the homepage but they claim to remove that upon registration. Will having access to the files that you upload be an attractive enough proposition to advertisers? Have they considered adding more social networking type elements to this site that would allow users to share and comment on each others images?

| First off thank you for putting our site on Killerstartups. I just wanted to comment that it was a coincidence that we had the advertisement up since I put those up the other day just as a test to see the outcome. We really never planned on monetizing the site for a long time because personally I hate ads but hosting file servers aren't cheap. Anyways the ads have been removed and again thanks for reviewing our website! I hope you guys enjoy Picpanda. | ||
