PicFindr is a stock photo search machine that offers over 2 million photos that are completely free for commercial use, and an additional 1.4 million professionally edited, model-released photos as low as $0.

26 per image. Using PicFindr's search engine, you can find free or buyable images that you can use for your blog, website, pamphlet, projects, or personal use. Just type in a keyword, like 'flowers,' or 'children,' and it will search major stock photo, public-domain, and photo community sites to bring you literally thousands of results. The images show up in thumbnail form, and then the ones you like, you will be able to add to their soon-to-come Favorites, or just get them right away. PicFindr requires the Flash 9 browser plug-in. If you don't already have it, PicFindr will prompt you and install it for you.

PicFindr searches the web* for stock photography that is completely free to use commercially. Several licensing arrangements have recently emerged as alternatives to copyright (sometimes called 'copyleft') and PicFindr makes sense of them all by helping you find images based on what you have to do to use them, whether licensed under Creative Commons, GNU, a site-specific agreement, or something else. PicFindr can even find free images you can use commercially without requiring permission or credit of any kind!

This site has a wealth of resources for those looking for digital images. The great thing is that most of them are even free, while others are priced incredibly low.

One problem might be that the site brings up too many results. How are we expected to look through all of those images? There must be some way to better organize the search results.

Next release (sometime in July 2007) will introduce "Permitted use" searching - find free images for commercial, educational, non-profit, worship/church/bible study or personal use!
