    Lphant.com - The Full P2P Solution

    lphant

You like to download just any stuff, and of course, you don’t like to pay for it. So here is where lphant.com comes in. We all know a wide variety of sites where you can share music and video. But with elephant, it is a different story. You can share practically just any stuff…and by that, ANY stuff is made. Up to here, you can think it is not THE discovery of the century, right? But there’s more to lphant.com than that. Lphant is compatible with both eMule and eDonkey, as well as BitTorrent. It is quite easy to use and configure; it is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux; it has versions in English, Spanish, and French; and last but not least, it has got Protocol obfuscation support , meaning you will to avoid ISP speed throttling. So now we’re talking? Check this out: Lphant has got the same file format than eMule, so you can change between lphant and eMule and viceversa, continuing your downloads without problems.

    In their own words

“Lphant is an overall complete solution to find, download and share any file. Lphant allows you to download and share files of any kind or size with millions of other people using the eDonkey network, where more than 25 millions of files are available or download any of the millions of torrent files you can find in the Net .”

Why it might be a killer

Everybody likes P2P, since it is an easy and cheap (free, actually) way to download, music, photo, and video. Lphant comes in handy for all these people, and besides being compatible with many other P2Ps, such as eMule, eDonkey, and BitTorrent, it brings some other features to the picture. It is also available in three different languages, so language here will definitely not be a barrier for foreigners around the world.

    Some questions

How will they compete with other established P2P giants, such as Kazaa, Ares, even Napster (although this one stopped being free after the Metallica issue)? Will people be ready and willing to change the P2P program they are already using (for years, maybe)? How is Lphant’s security against the various threats inherent in file sharing?
