Loud.com - Contest for a Record Deal

Universal has recently dumped an undisclosed amount of money on the website, Loud.com. Loud is now hosting a contest to find the best rapper, and the winner can receive a record deal and $100,000. Naviagate through the site and find areas to buy beats, to blog, to search profiles and for producers, all features you need to create a profile and log in to be able to use. SRC has put out 4 extremely successful artists in the last few years and they are clearly looking to dominate the market once again. With all of the enthusiasm now for the Cinderella-like American Idol stories, a contest like this will surely garner attention and get visitors to the site.

Rifkind paired up with Universal Records in 2002 and started SRC. The label broke four artists in its first three years with the multi-platinum David Banner, Terror Squad, Remy Ma, and Akon. SRC's first release, David Banner's "Mississippi: The Album", spawned the top 10 hit "Like a Pimp," which went on to Gold status worldwide.



Remy Ma's debut "There's Something About Remy: Based on a True Story" came out in February 2004 and quickly gained exposure in radio play and record sales. Rifkind also showed immediate success in 2002, with Terror Squad's gold selling album "True Story," which featured the number one single "Lean Back." "
