WikiFM is an exciting new mashup of the popular sites Last.fm and Wikipedia. If you’ve ever wished you could learn more about the song or band you’re listening to on Last.fm, or if you’ve read about an artist on Wikipedia and wondered what they sound like, then you will appreciate this site. The setup is quite simple. When you visit WikiFM, your browser window is divided into two side-by-side pages. On the left, you have your Last.FM player, and on the right, the Wikipedia page that corresponds to the artist or song you are listening to. As the song changes on your Last.FM player, the Wikipedia page will automatically change with it. You can also search by artist name, tags, Last.fm user name, etc., or just enter any Last.FM URL.

WikiFM is the mashup of two very popular sites, so it already has an advantage. The fact that it is free, simple, and intuitive makes it even more attractive. The information provided on Wikipedia is much more in-depth than what’s provided on Last.FM artist pages.

Does this site plan to remain ad-free and free to use? How does it plan to make a profit? Will there be any further improvements to this site’s appearance? It was recently updated, but still isn’t the most attractive site.
