    Indistr.com - 100% Independent Music Distribution

Indistr is a new service which caters to independent musicians who don"t want to deal with the bigwigs in the music biz. The site lets artists stay in complete control of their music, with direct distribution to the public.

Artists simply upload as many tracks as they wish which can then be bundled together with artwork and sold as an album, or each song can be sold separately-- it"s completely up to the musician. Indistr in turn will provide the platform for selling the music; buyers can purchase songs using their PayPal account or a credit card. Indistr doesn"t support DRM, so music can be played on whatever player a buyer fancies. Artists immediately get 75% of the profits and they get to set the price (individual tracks are however set at a dollar per pop). Say goodbye to contracts and numbers and Hitlists, Indistr is here to bring indie music to the world without all the superficial stuff.

    Indistr.com In their own words

"Introducing INDISTR© - an independent distribution service, artist direct to the public! Finally a solution for any artist to distribute their music directly to the public while staying in total control of all the ownership, rights, creative process, pricing, release dates and more. Long gone are the days of artists having little creative control and making 5-10% per album sale while waiting months upon months for the payment. INDISTR© artists can sell as much (or as little) music as they want, when they want, at prices they set - and get paid 75% of all income instantly! Meaning, if you upload music to INDISTR© in the morning, you could be buying lunch with its income that afternoon!"

Why Indistr.com might be a killer

Indistr is utterly direct and simple, but therein lies its beauty; it"s transparent. Struggling artists know what they"re getting into, and they retain full control of their music. They don"t have to sell out and join the MTV bandwagon to get their music out. And fans get the music they want.

    Some questions about Indistr.com

The idea is pretty sound, but the music industry is partly based on hype and publicity. Musicians won"t make as much money without the touring and the ad campaigns etc. etc. provided by big studios. Unless Indistr really makes it big, artists won"t get much attention.
