In their own words
"Introducing INDISTR© - an independent distribution service, artist direct to the public! Finally a solution for any artist to distribute their music directly to the public while staying in total control of all the ownership, rights, creative process, pricing, release dates and more. Long gone are the days of artists having little creative control and making 5-10% per album sale while waiting months upon months for the payment. INDISTR© artists can sell as much (or as little) music as they want, when they want, at prices they set - and get paid 75% of all income instantly! Meaning, if you upload music to INDISTR© in the morning, you could be buying lunch with its income that afternoon!"
Why it might be a killer
Indistr is utterly direct and simple, but therein lies its beauty; it"s transparent. Struggling artists know what they"re getting into, and they retain full control of their music. They don"t have to sell out and join the MTV bandwagon to get their music out. And fans get the music they want.
Some questions
The idea is pretty sound, but the music industry is partly based on hype and publicity. Musicians won"t make as much money without the touring and the ad campaigns etc. etc. provided by big studios. Unless Indistr really makes it big, artists won"t get much attention.
