    fuzz.com - A Community For Musicians

    fuzz

Fuzz is a new music community designed especially for bands and musicians. If you read the Fuzz manifesto you’ll learn that Fuzz wants to revolutionize the music industry—they want to empower musicians, and support all types of music, not just pop hits; Fuzz believes in independent artists and creative freedom. They’re all about transparency and DIY. For bands, Fuzz offers a platform for selling and promoting their music; there’s the basic stuff, profiles, pics, music, news etc. but there’s also a dashboard for monitoring sales, fan profiles and locations, profits, etc. Bands can easily communicate with their fans and keep track of mailing lists. Fans can check out new music and support the bands they love. They can share playlists and buy the music they want.

    In their own words

Fuzz is a collaboration of artists, fans, technologists and business people who are part of a broader movement to revolutionize the music industry. Our mission is to build a fair, open, powerful, and participatory platform for people to create, share and discover great music.

Why it might be a killer

Fuzz has a nice layout and the design is perfectly attuned with the independent music biz. The site is great for artists looking to avoid the whole industry. It gives them total control of sales, marketing, etc.

    Some questions

Fuzz is entering a hugely crowded market. They don’t have any extras such as widgets for offsite promotion. There"s no music player and it lacks an events calendar.
