French start-up Eyeka aims to take the world of user-generated video and photo by storm. The site provides a platform for users to submit their filmic creations and have them distributed over the web and on mobile phones everywhere. Users also have the chance to earn royalties and have their work syndicated. Submissions to Eyeka are filtered by content and released on relevant channels, e.g., stories, noise, night dust, street, and earth. Members are accorded their own profile space where you’ll find not only biographical deets, but also a showcase of their work. You’ll also find daily content on Eyeka’s WebTV. The majority of the site’s submissions are from Francophones, but anyone can join free of charge.
