    Digpicz.com - Digg Video Section's Counterpart

    digpicz

Digg's popular video section has just been supplemented by digpicz, a brand-new site which works exactly like its predecessor, except for that it deals with images and not videos. The content, all provided from Digg (though the site is unaffiliated), allows users to view images that others have digg'ed, comment on them, link back to them, and email them. Like Digg, the site also used a public API to gather its initial content for the database, and will continue to use it to monitor the content of Digg's front page. Additionally, users can browse content by top poster, top hosts, and of course, users can also digg digpicz.

    In their own words

"I have been getting emails that it would be a wise idea to launch a Digg media website. Yeah! Why not? Since Digg already has a video section there is not much point in duplicating it. The new site could just be digg for pictures".

Why it might be a killer

Why hasn't this been done sooner? This site is a great counterpart to Digg's previously incomplete media section. digpicz is a great way for people to see the best images on the net, as rated by the community.

    Some questions

The site seems somewhat disorganized; how are the images categorized? Why can't users view pictures in descending order by number of diggs?
