Burstcast.com - Mobile photo sharing

If you´ve got a camera phone, have some fun with it on the Burstcast site. The site offers space for you to upload pics from your camera phone either by MMS or by e-mail, right from the phone.

On the site, you can choose for your photos to be made public and shown on the home page (but it´s either all or nothing; you can´t have some photos be public and some private). When you scroll the mouse over the thumbnail, a larger screenshot of the image appears. The images are high-resolution JPEGs. It´s a fun service that can be used in a variety of ways.

Now that mobile phones are equipped with 5-pixel cameras, people need sites like Burstcast where they can temporarily dump images and then retrieve them later. It is good that the site can handle larger-sized images for this reason.

The site is lacking a purpose. It doesn´t really let you do anything constructive with your photos besides post them. It needs more community features or photoshop tools in order to be a more complete service.
