Fed up with YouTube? If you are, then you should check out Blinkx.com. Through this site, you’ll be able to search through the internet’s largest video database (over 26 million hours of searchable video). The site’s search algorithms work really well, so you won’t find weird results with each search you make. The videos load fairly quickly, so anyone with a decent internet uplink shouldn’t have a problem using this great site. There are no social networking feature, which might come as a relief to most. The site is just a video search engine, nothing more, nothing less. The interface is great, and should allow you to quickly browse through any video you are looking for. The homepage’s video wall is really outstanding, as the videos just pop out right at you.

In their own words
“blinkx is the world’s largest and most advanced video search engine.”
Why it might be a killer
Giving us a break from YouTube’s hegemony is great. This should appeal to the so-called internet separatists, who don’t like to follow trends.
Some questions
Isn’t YouTube already too big of a competitor? 26 million hours of video?
