Tributes is a site for obituaries. Originally belonging to the oldies social network Eons, the site has since been summarily split from its parent site, as a gesture acknowledging that even old folks don’t like to be reminded of death. So, Tributes is now a self standing entity which pays homage to the dearly departed and sorely missed. Before getting started with your own tribute, there’s a tutorial worth following on how to create a particularly thoughtful and lasting impression. First, you’ll have to find a record of the departed’s death in the Tribute database. From there you can write up an obit and add photos or journal postings. Content can be added as often as you like. The site houses obits and tributes to national figures and local personalities. Recent tributes are listed on the homepage. Users can make donations, contact tribute owners, and even send flowers directly from the site. Additional features include funeral planning information, links to funeral directors and a guide to gift giving and charity.
