    Ziddio.com - Get on TV

    ziddio

Are you a fan of online videos? Are YouTube, MetaCafe, and Google Video et. al simply not cutting it for you? Ziddio promises you more; it´s not just another user generated internet video site. Besides making it possible for you to appear on TV, real TV, that is, and on Ziddio mobile, Ziddio hosts contests, and the prizes are sponsored by big name brands like HGTV and HBO. Current competitions include “If I Were King,” brought to you in part by ShowTime, “The Search for the Craziest Canine,” from WEtv, and “Be a Tokyo Reporter,” sponsored by Anime Selects. If you think you´ve got what it takes, enterâ€"all you need is an email address and password. Contests are judged by Ziddio members, so even if you don´t have the chops for acting/directing, you can still participate by judging your peers. Ziddio is free and entertaining, start watching today.

    In their own words

“Ziddio is the very latest in user-generated video sharing. People like you create videos and upload them to Ziddio.com for the world to see, laugh, question, mock, and even enjoy.”

Why it might be a killer

For one thing, Ziddio is different; the videos seem a little slicker, with higher production values than those found on YouTube, and the site is supported by real TV networks. With contests sponsored by ShowTime and HBO, it´s bound to generate interest amongst a broader audience. Plus it"s a great venue for budding film makers/actors to get their content out.

    Some questions

Will Ziddio potentially lose common users who don´t know how to wield a camera? Will the YouTube audience get bored without the usual fare of pratfalls and jokes?
