Viewvi is, of course, all about viewpoints. It’s a community site in which members are prompted to express their views and opinions on a range of subject matters and profound questions. Start by choosing a question such as ‘Are we alone in the universe?’ and write your ideas. Alternatively, contest someone else’s view if you don’t agree. The most voted for views are showcased on the homepage. Each view is displayed along side a voting button which you can click on to indicate approval or disapproval. Other users can offer comments and alternate views are displayed beyond the jump. Those expressing themselves the most can be found in the stats list on the homepage. Each user’s profile tabulates the number of views submitted, view popularity, votes received and votes made.

Pretty interesting stuff, all in all. The topics range from the absurd to the profound and it’s quite fascinating to see how elaborate explanations can get. These people are definitely not shy in expressing their opinions. It makes for a good outlet to get your thoughts out.

Although it presents an interesting concept, Viewvi doesn’t seem likely to hit the mainstream. There are plenty of outlets for users to express themselves—forums, blogs, email, social networks, etc—it’s highly unlikely that they’ll go to Viewvi specifically for that purpose.
