UPedia.com is a recently launched how-to video sharing website, aimed at providing users a means to learn practical stuff through short video tutorials. On one hand, users can share their knowledge through short video clips and make money from what they know: UPedia offers a $5 PPV (Pay per view) reward for every 1,000 times your uploaded videos are shown. UPedia.com is the preliminary service for a more extensive and real-time version called UPedia LIVE! which is currently under development. UPedia LIVE is essentially a market-place for real-time tutoring by experts, for multiple participants. Users can search for their favorite fields of interest and pay small amounts to participate in a real-time classroom where an expert teaches a subject of their choice.

Traditional find-an-expert services charge users by the minute for 1-on-1 sessions. Therefore, to make it worth their while, experts charge very high amounts for their time. This significantly reduces the amount of users who are willing to pay for this service. Furthermore, users are motivated to finish the session as quickly as possible, once their questions are answered. In UPedia LIVE, users do not have to worry about time; they know how much they'll pay in advance.
