In their own words
“TeachBuzz is a new community-driven web site that aims to provide a new way for the teaching community to share valuable information related to various categories and user groups, including k-8, High School, Special Needs, and Alternative Education Models. The primary objective for TeachBuzz is to allow users from the teaching community to post, share, vote, and comment on news, stories, online articles, blog entries, and other information commonly available on the world wide web. Users will notice that TeachBuzz resembles the popular technology site Digg. TeachBuzz is based on the user participation model established by Digg, whereby users can vote on posted items of interest to assign higher priority/popularity to information that has been posted by other users. By using this model, we hope to move in a new direction that will highlight what is popular to teachers that elect to participate.”
Why it might be a killer
The articles are important and interesting and really give teachers the chance to be informed and improve. Fresh ideas and materials are like gold and now teachers have more access than ever. Teachbuzz.com also offers support to teachers who are suffering from a lack of creativity or camaraderie.
Some questions
Can this site be used by teachers around the world? Can articles be translated from other languages to help teachers understand foreign teaching techniques?
