Storymash.com - The Future of Collaborative Fiction

    StoryMash

Storymash is a mashup of fiction readers and writers. It is a collaborative system of user generated content that pays all authors over 50% of all revenue made by the content they publish. So here is how it works: You're a fiction writer and want the world to know about your work. So you will post your story to StoryMash.com. But that's just the beginning. Other authors can add follow-up, or even middle chapters to existing chapters written by others. Branching chapters compete with each other based on the vote ranking of registered readers. Eventually, the best storylines will evolve into the most entertaining, and profitable storytelling possible. They also have periodic writing contests, and, for instance, are giving away over $500 in prizes this February. So sharpen your pencil, or better, clean up your keyboard and start posting on StoryMash, share your creative writing with the world, and earn some cash.

    In their own words

"StoryMash is where authors start new stories, continue existing stories, or take a story in a different direction by adding a chapter to its middle! All the while earning money for every chapter they publish on StoryMash."

Why it might be a killer

StoryMash is the first business model that applies the wiki-esque "wisdom of the crowds" to storytelling.

StoryMash provides a fair contract for writers. Writers keep their copyright, and grant StoryMash a non-exclusive license so that StoryMash can adapt and possibly resell combined works.

StoryMash is a great way for new authors to preview their work to a new audience, and allows them free advertising to promote their existing work.

    Some questions

How do they plan to make this stick on people?

What will they do to make this massive?
