ReDesignMe.org - Your Reaction to Bad Design

    redesignme

Everyone knows the frustration of having to deal with some sort of technology that just hasn't been designed well, and thus is extremely confusing or wastes your time. ReDesignMe allows you to post images or videos of those products that drive you crazy and gives you room to explain your frustrations with them. Then you can suggest a redesign of it and hear those of other site users helped by a tool that allows you to point out and mark your images to show exactly where the problem is. At the end of the month, prizes are awarded based on entries and their suggested solutions. Share your frustrations by commenting on posts made by others and then work together to come up with a solution and get rewarded for your creativity.

    In their own words

"Do some products make you feel stupid? Ever been confused in an elevator? Is your phone driving you mad?! You have a voice!

    How it works...
    1. Make a picture or movie of a product you struggle with
    2. Write down what you don't like about it
    3. Upload it to the gallery
    4. Redesign and get redesigned!

Get creative and suggest a redesign of a product submitted by you or somebody else
Use the redesigner tool to quickly capture ideas
    Cool prizes every month!!"

Why it might be a killer

This would be a good tool for people who are looking to see how customers might react to their products and if they work the way the designer intended them to. It's also a good place for inventors to get ideas for new designs or ways in which to improve something that's already out there. I could see companies paying to get feedback from the community on their products. Design schools will also want to advertise.

    Some questions

Having to reload the window every time to see the image of an entry is frustrating in itself, and should be redesigned. Could they add a bit more information about the prizes and point of the site? Could they categorize items also by location, since some of the items really only pertain to certain countries, and people would be more interested in venting and creating for something that's going to affect them?
