Photo + Greeting = Phreeting. At Phreetings.com, creating your own phreeting also happens to be free. Enter a keyword and hit search, and the program will scour Flickr and offer you pages of suggested photos. When I searched “sun,” Phreetings returned hundreds of photo results. If you don’t find what you are looking for, you can perform as many searches as you’d like. You drag your chosen image and drop it where directed by the simple instructions, choose between seven color schemes, and enter the text of your greeting. When you’re done, you can copy the URL of your greeting or click ‘Send’ to open your email program. The generated email includes the URL, not an actual copy of the postcard you created.

Anyone looking to get a bit creative and make a personalized greeting might enjoy this site, since it is simple to use and gives you easy access to the enormous breadth of images on Flickr. The greetings you create can be quite attractive, and would be even moreso if they added an option for using different fonts or text styles.

Could Phreetings add an option for downloading the postcard or for creating code for posting it to blogs, social networking sites, message boards, etc.? Could they allow you to upload your own photo if you prefer that over the Flickr images offered?
