- Great companies read us to understand their customers"
Why it might be a killer
Measuredup strives to be focused on "Customer Service" and the customer experience rather than product reviews, menus or movies. We feel this is a wide open and huge category that will grow along with and complimentary to local search business. At Measuredup they want to do one thing really well rather then trying to be all things online to all people. The "Customer Service Pledge" on their site will give you some more insight into their plans. They believe that the fragmentation of advertising media, rise of social networking and dramatic increase in shared online content is creating a universe where companies are increasingly looking for ways to truly engage the consumer, build a dialog and increase brand equity as defined by consumer reputation and more specifically customer service. Now more then ever "bad" and more importantly "good" reviews that come up when people search on Google and other search players as well as when they happen upon reviews through links, partnerships, and sites like Stumbleupon and others are going to increasingly play more important roles as companies open conversations with individuals, brand advocates and critics. The inverse consequence of an Internet "connected" world is that their is no sweeping it under the rug for companies and likewise "wins" can be shared as digital word of mouth. Measuredup wont at first be for all companies but it will be for that increasing list of companies that understand the ramifications of good customer service, the increasing role of online commentary and the importance of diverse marketing programs. Think of Measuredup as a digital focus group that is dressed as a consumer review site.
Some questions
How will they differentiate to other similar sites reviewing a more abstract universe, such as pricing and others besides service? If they do, they are a Killer.
