    Homeandabroad.com - Trip planner

    Homeandabroad

If you are planning to take a holiday but are not too keen on, or rather are not sure where to start planning your activities, homeandabroad.com is the perfect site for you. Their 4-step guide will let you choose a destination based on theme, duration and overall desire. Plus you can get free quotes from travel agents, or find out specific airfare or hotel charges; the site also –and this is a very important thing—includes data on visa and document requirements to enter any given country, plus all the listed attractions are linked to the attraction's own website or some of the site's registered users photo albums or comments.

    In their own words

"Tell us where you're headed, what day you want to start your itinerary, and how many days you want it to cover. When you're done, click on Next Step

Home&Abroad's mission is to become the indispensable travel planning and purchasing tool of travelers worldwide.

As a first step to fulfilling that mission, Home&Abroad has developed a new approach to travel planning, a web-based travel application, the Virtual Travel Concierge. The idea for this application emerged in 2003-4 as our CEO, Mark Schroeder, traveled the world with his family and experienced first hand the trials and tribulations associated with organizing a trip and with traveling; the concept grew and gained form in a back-street office in Boulder, Colorado in the year that followed; and the resulting, revolutionary application will be available to travelers at home&abroad in March of 2006.

What Schroeder realized is that preparing and planning for a trip oneself is time-consuming and can be exasperating while leaving the details to travel experts is expensive and the results are frequently impersonal. Home&Abroad was founded to change this paradigm."

Why it might be a killer

Powered with Google maps, this site's extensive guides and directories of hotels and restaurants is sure to hold something for you, and since you can look up any part of the world, you might be able to find something not only abroad, but close to you as well.

    Some questions

Unfortunately, homeandabroad.com has not invented the idea, nor is the only one exploiting it, so it seems reasonable to ask how they intend to deal with the massive amount of competitors in the market
