FilmForay.com - Beyond Hollywood, Films Made By You

Films have always held a certain mystique; everyone wants to be a part of them, as actors or directors, but most the times those are just foolish dreams. Hollywood’s a tough business; unless you’re willing to be some tenth-rate reality star chances are the closest you’ll get to the movies is your local AMC Cineplex.

Filmforay aims to change that. They want to make films accessible to all. They’ve put together a forum in which you and I and your neighbor can collaborate and make films. Right now they’re in the idea stage which means they’re looking for input, for storylines and plots. The one problem with Filmforay is that they have no means to actually make a film and they haven’t a clear direction of where to go after they’ve come up with a grand idea. It’s always fun to dream though. It will be interesting to see the next stage, if and when it arrives.

    Filmforay.com In their own words

“Welcome to filmforay, where the creative force behind a full scale movie production is YOU! The entertainment industry has become complacent, content to feed us the same bland sequels and regurgitated remakes. It’s time for something different, but it’s not going to be easy. Hollywood won’t just hand over the reigns to anybody, so enlist and let the battle begin!”

Why Filmforay.com might be a killer

Filmforay is extremely ambitious. It’s also extremely frail. It’s really just a plan now. But therein lies the beauty—it has great potential. Community film making—it could fulfill the dreams of many film buffs. The results could be great or lousy, but it’s a very interesting proposal.

    Some questions about Filmforay.com

Again the problem with Filmforay is lack of planning. There’s no buzz about it so no one will even know that it exists which means no participants; the film may never get out of the idea stage. If it does, what comes next? Where will the money come from to actually finance a production?
