Booksiamreading.com - Keep Track of Books You’ve Read

    booksiamreading

Books I am Reading is a simple little site that allows you to keep track of the books you’ve read, those that you’d like to read, and to comment both before and after you’ve read them. To get started, you’ll need to sign up by either entering your OpenID or with a Yahoo ID. After registering, you can search for the book in question by entering the title into the search bar provided and once you’ve found it, just add it to your list of read books or your desired reads. You can also include the date that you started the book and the date you finished it, allowing you and others to see what you are currently reading and how far you’ve progressed.

    In their own words

“Currently the site works well for my needs but I do know there is alot more stuff to add. Things like comments, reordering of lists and possibly some better way to keep track of friends are the directions I would like to go.”

Why it might be a killer

This is a simple site to use and it does exactly what it says it does without complicating itself. People who like to read will enjoy being able to record all of the books they’ve read and also to look back at them over time. Students may find it useful to record a synopsis of each book they’ve read to trig their memory when it comes to studying.

    Some questions

The only slightly irritating thing about this site is that you can not sign up without having either an OpenID or a Yahoo ID. While most people probably already have one or the other, this requirement will hinder the site’s growth velocity.
