Do you think that your life is interesting enough to warrant a Wikipedia article? While you may not be eligible to be included on the community encyclopedia, Biographicon wants to feature you. The web site is purely devoted to housing and displaying biographies, ranging from Sir Edmund Hillary (the first man to scale Everest) to Cori Dahl (“Snowboarder, Realtor, Mom”). Like Wikipedia, anyone can read and edit a biography. The site also shows connections with other people on the site, and explains how they met. A simple search reveals that at least half (if not more) of the biographies are now filled out by “notable” individuals, although the site focuses on encouraging the average joe to create a profile as well.

Biographicon is a fun resource for those that want their story out there. It is like facebook without restriction- you can elaborate on your “personal information” and allow others to as well. Everyone has dreamed of fame at some point, and Biographicon puts you one step closer.
Without a large community to watch over content, and without public records of events and facts, couldn’t Biographicon be conducive to falsification (and the ability to tarnish an individual’s name)?
