Think you can make a winning pick? Then try your luck at Leaguist, the sports site which lets you pick the winning team. With Leaguist you choose who you think will win in an upcoming sporting event. While there’s no betting involved, you do get to join groups and compete against others to see who’s better at picking the right team. If you pick the winning side, you’ll three points for getting the correct score difference; for simply picking the winner you’ll get one point. So far, during its beta period, Leaguist offers only two leagues to choose from New Zealand/Australia’s Super 14 Rugby event and the ANZ Netball championship. More leagues and events sucha s the Euro 2008, and the Air New Zealand Cup, are to come later on. Users can join public and private groups. The site is compatible with OpenId too.

This is a very clean lined site which focuses on good old fashioned sporting fun, rather than gambling. It’s a good way to get friends together and participate in sports challenges. The site’s very easy to navigate, and implements OpenID.
