Zynga.com - Bringing Great Games to Your Social Network

    zynga

Zynga is a company that creates games that can be played on Facebook, Bebo, Friendster, and meebo, with aspirations to expand its operations to more social networking sites. Some if its most popular games include Texas Hold ‘Em Poker and Blackjack. Other Zynga games include strategy games like Attack! And Triumph as well as Battleship, Scramble, and an underwater adventure game called Diveman. Zynga has also developed something called Social Chat that lets you chat live with your friends on Facebook. Zynga games are really catching on, so much in fact that over five and a half million people have played Texas Hold’ Em. To play games, you simply go to your social networking site and sign up from there.

    In their own words

“Zynga Game Network is the #1 social gaming company on the web. Zynga was founded specifically to add a social element to casual online games because we love games, and we love them most when we’re playing with friends! Social games provide a more fun, competitive and contagious experience. Zynga delivers on the promise of social networks, making it easy to connect with old friends and make new ones (no download required!). Zynga has something for everyone: casino games, word games, board games, role playing games and party games which can be found on Facebook, Bebo, Friendster and meebo.”

Why it might be a killer

Zynga games are fun and easy to play and since you play while logged onto your social networking site, you can enjoy them with all your friends. The company has done well for itself having already made ten million dollars in venture capital. It will probably continue to make even more if its games make their way onto other social networking sites.

    Some questions

Will people who don’t belong to any social networking site or whose current site doesn’t feature Zynga games be willing to sign up for a Facebook or another site just to play them? Can Zynga continue to develop new games at the rate that users eventually become bored with the older ones?
