ZSpotNow.com - Fujifilm Z20fd Social Network

Built on the wildly popular Ning social network platform, ZSpotNow is a new social network created by Fujifilm for users of their Z20fd digital camera. The camera in question is a 10-megapixel point and shoot that has a blog mode that allows photos to be reduced and resized for easier uploading to blogs. The camera also records MPEG4, making it easy to directly upload videos to YouTube. The network is focused around upcoming Fujifilm events in Miami, New York and Los Angeles and bands and DJs of each event will be adding their content to the network in the near future. Users will be able to upload pictures and videos from each of the events directly from their camera.

Using a social network as a key marketing tool is an interesting idea that might catch on and become more common. Whether ZSpotNow is able to captivate a big enough segment of the population to make this network a go is still up in the air.

Will users of the camera be sufficiently convinced to join this network? It seems like they may have problems convincing people of the benefits of joining especially in a day and age where there are so many social networks to choose from.
