In their own words
"Social discovery for the real world.
Your friends and the places and events they "touch" light up so you can pick what's interesting to you. You control your privacy to share what you want with only the people you select.
Install Whrrl on your compatible mobile phone or use SMS text messaging. Either way, you get to Whrrl on-the-go."
Why it might be a killer
The promotional tie-ins will insure that the network gets users and it guarantees revenue for Whrrl. In that sense, the site has a solid founding and while their idea isn't new, it seems to be well executed. Friends can easily keep in touch and find out all about latest and most happening events/places.
Some questions
Will people be up for yet another mobile/mapping/Twitter mashup? What about privacy? Who can see your whereabouts and doings?
