    WayOfPearls.com - Social Networking With A Twist

    wayofpearls

The WayOfPearls system has just hit the streets, and it aims to give the whole social networking approach a twist: whereas other service providers (including giants like Twitter) merely enable the user to reply where they are and what they are doing in a specific moment, WayOfPearls makes room for actually finding out what a person will do afterwards – be it in a hour, a day or even a week.

The system lets you invite your friends to a given event, and then you can see who else is going to be there. The moment you join an event, you can talk about it with other individuals who have joined the event. Moreover, an “Events Search” option that will let you look up activities within your neighborhood is thankfully provided.

As the site itself points out, WayOfPearls is also appealing for entrepreneurs and those who hold and organize commercial events. For instance, if you are going to hold a meeting it is perfectly possible for those who will attend to inform themselves on who else is going to show up.

Finally, it is important to mention that WayOfPearls is actually the companion to a lifestream service termed SocialOyster which can be accessed from the WayOfPearls site. It is fair to say that both services work very well in tandem.

    In their own words

“The basic idea of the WayOfPearls is to tell your friends or the world where you are going.”

Why it might be a killer

It offers an interesting twist when it comes to social networking.

    Some questions

What is the scope of this system? Are there any limitations when it comes to foreplanning, or can I plan an event that will take place in a couple of months’ time?
