Waxxi.com - Interactive podcasting

Now podcasting has been taken one step further so that you can do more than just tune in and listen to the speakers: you can call in and participate in a discussion. Waxxi has launched a site that boasts live and archived interactive podcasts. In a separate function, Waxxi.com is creating an online business community that is able to interact vocally through podcasts from all corners of the world. Waxxi is promoting their service as a way for businesses to be in touch with consumers and to network within their industries.

Waxxi´s privacy policy states that minors cannot become members, but there is no way to really prevent them from doing so. In fact, one of the potential problems with open participation in podcasts is that people could join just to cause problems, i.e. crank-calls or provoking people for the sake of comedy. Waxxi needs some form of moderating live conversation to ensure the quality of their podcast programming and to prevent offensive content.

Also, the current limit for participants in one podcasting program is 800 people. Does this mean that people will have to wait their turns for a very long time in order to propose a question or a comment? This issue is addressed on Waxxi´s site but they presently offer no solution.
