    StudentBusinesses.com - Student Entrepreneur Networking

    studentbusinesses

StudentBusinesses.com an online network for aspiring student entrepreneurs in the United States. This site brings two groups together: entrepreneurial university students, and the experienced business professionals, investors, and advisors who wish to connect with them. Students can join one of two different groups, either “In the Game,” meaning they already have a start-up idea or company in the works, or “On the Roster,” meaning they have great interest in entrepreneurship, but are not yet involved with a start-up. To ensure the quality of this website, it is an invitation-only system.

    In their own words

“StudentBusinesses.com is a selective resource that connects the most promising student entrepreneurs in the U.S. with resources to help them succeed. By using the site, promising student entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to (1) publicize their businesses and ideas to potential advisors, investors, and professional service-providers, (2) network with other promising student entrepreneurs, (3) participate in discussions on a wide range of promising startup ideas, and (4) access valuable educational content about entrepreneurship.”

Why it might be a killer

StudentBusinesses.com has potential to strongly impact the budding careers of talented young entrepreneurs. The invitation-only system of the site members ensures that all players contribute and receive the best information and advice. However, this system may cut off other potential players that could add valuable knowledge to the site.

    Some questions

How can universities learn about this site and promote it to their students? How may alumni associations be approached to participate? In what additional ways may the two groups interact through website functions?
