    stageselect.com - gaming database

With 30,000+ games indexed, stageselect.com is in to become one of the web's most relevant video-game archive. It focuses on old-style gaming systems, but keeps track new-releases, always focusing on the gaming experience in itself, without overlooking the techincal issues of every imaginable gaming system. The site's forum features a trading zone, where provided you sign up first, you can exchange you favorite video-games and gaming accessories with other expert or amateur players.

This gamers community keeps not only a frequently updated forum, but an ongoing "ask the Stage Select community" section, where you can ask your specific questions on whatever game you are playing, and get an answer in less than 4 hours, and also access the archive of questions asked by other users.

    Stageselect.com In their own words

    What is Stage Select?

Stage Select is a video game news, reviews, and information site. It was started as a database of every game imaginable, and since then has expanded to allow people to meet up and share their love of gaming.

This game site was created because I saw that:

Game collectors need reliable information; there needs to be a source of frequently updated pricing and rarity information.

Game players need instant relief from the pains of gaming - they need the secrets and the power to perform their best in games. A variety of game content relevant to collectors /players must be presented - pictures, FAQs, codes, release info, price information, system information, etc etc.

The past of gaming must be presented in a way to encourage the collection of original cartridges and accessories, and where possible, linking that past to current retailers.

Game content must cover a range of publishers previously ignored or marginalized by other publishing entities.

Gamers want to be a part of a community. Community shouldn't be an afterthought or a plug-in. Community features must be built with the collector in mind - in example, a way to quickly maintain game collections and personal information.

Editorial content must be presented immediately, consistently, and provide insight into the past, present, and future.

I wanted my site to reflect who I am - food, pop culture, and gaming go hand in hand.

    Some questions about Stageselect.com

Their vintage design can be a bit confusing. For instance, when first visiting stageselect.com you see a snapshot of mobile phone, which can be really misleading, and result in target-audience not familiarised with the site to leave it, thinking they might have clicked the wrong link. Will they see to this design issue anytime soon?

Why Stageselect.com might be a killer

The reason why stageselect.com might be the next killer startup is because of they are not only lovers of their games, but clearly because they are pros, and know their business very well. Also, the site is user-friendly, and so seem to be their developers, which encourages the site visitor to benefit from this extensive know-how for free.
