Shopseen.com - Social Shopping For Local Shoppers

A new tool that is out in beta, Shopseen shows you what other shoppers are finding in stores around you. Rather than bookmarking products and events for online stores, Shopseen is about local shopping.

You can post pics from your computer or your phone and see what other people are finding. People who post the most popular items win gift cards to the best local stores.



You can follow other shoppers and get notified when they find cool, new stuff. You can also follow your favorite stores to get a peek into what's happening there in real-time. User activity can be broadcast to the user's Facebook and/or Twitter feed giving them a huge audience to express their style, and for local stores to gain an audience much wider than they could possibly obtain on their own.

The main selling point of Shopseen is that it is wholly focused on local businesses. Instead of just offering reviews on businesses (which are less relevant for retail businesses which have constantly changing merchandise), Shopseen gives a real-time look at the products and events available around you. Facebook/Twitter integration is also a nice and necessary touch. Mobile phone applications are on the horizon, and when they materialize they are going to add more icing to the cake.
