Pugspot.com - Calling All Pug-Lovers

Pug-lovers unite! PugSpot is the social site for Pug parents, with photo sharing, video sharing, a forum, a directory of Pug shelters/breeders and an online store. They also list articles about how to train, raise and care for pugs, and link to blogs and other pug-related web sites. The site is cute enough and provides some invaluable information, but it seems to lack the most basic tool of all social networking sites -- the ability to create "individual profiles" so that pug owners can actually connect and maybe even set up a play date if they live in the same town.

Does this site hope to make a profit or is it just a site for people who love pugs? If they do want to be the MySpace for Pugs, why do they not create the ability for real connections between pugs and their owners with individual profiles? Also, do pug owners want to participate in an online networking site, or do they get enough sharing at the local dog park?
