PostGradLifestyle.com - Life is Their Playground(?)

    postgradlifestyle

If 40 is the new 30 and 30 the new 20, then 20-something is the new 10ish?? It would seem that way after reading Postgradlifestyle.com. The site is the latest entry in the social networking world that details a pretty shallow and meaningless existence for those who have just graduated (at least for this admittedly older reader). Especially the partying and dating life. Oh wait, I learned that the dating life doesn"t exist anymore. Guys just need to buy a girl some drinks and he will likely get lucky (but the drinks are now $10 instead of $2 -- oh, the horror!). And sorority girls are still the easiest to get. This was disclosed by both the men and women who posted on the site. I also learned that I am not a "cougar hunter." Phew. I mean, I qualify because I"m old, but since I"m not rich and I don"t prowl the bars for younger men I am officially not a "cougar hunter" (although who can deny that Demi Moore struck gold?). The site is really just a forum to share -- they ask for reader stories and photos, and they are taking a poll on the favorite drinking holiday. They didn"t have the usual profile creation, but maybe they figure MySpace and Facebook have that covered for their age group. I"m just glad I"m not a 20-something anymore.

    Our Motivation

Why it might be a killer

Social networking is a phenomenon with seems to have no limits or boundaries. Finding niche groups to target is as good an idea as any in this world.

    Some questions

Does this site describe the life of most post-grads out there, and thus will it strike a nerve and build a large readership? Do MySpace and Facebook already have the market cornered for this age group? How are they finding the post-grads to market to? How are they planning on turning a profit?
