The site is free to subscribe to and use, and for every active registered user, the site will donate a dollar to a well known environmental charity. The site even occasionally gives away free stuff to regular contributors such as hiking equipment and other related gifts. The site makes it very easy to post and comment and is fairly appealing to the eye.

The site has a great niche and a very grassroots feel about it that will be attractive to mountain vlimbers worldwide. Being able to vote on the content will bring a sense of participation to the users and give them a reason to spend more time on the site.

With subscribtion being free and no advertising on the site I dont see how this company could be making money. Surely with time they could gain enough users to justify getting some niche advertisers, but will it ever be enough to be wildly profitable?
