    OnMyCity.com - Local Community Network

    onmycity

OnMyCity is a local network catering to a number of cities and towns across North America. The site aims to connect local businesses, organizations and non profits, enabling collaboration and heightened awareness of shared opportunities. Members have access to profile pages in which they can post a variety of content including pictures and video. Other standard networking features apply as well: you’ve got friends, blogs, messaging and search. Towards the business end, users will find a marketplace to buy and sell products, business search and profiles, and event listings. OnMyCity aggregates local news headlines on each city’s homepage. There are also separate city feeds and blogs. Among the cities you’ll find on the site are Tucson, Austin, Tempe and Alburquerque.

    In their own words

“First ever local community network for non profits, small businesses”

Why it might be a killer

This is a simply designed site which offers locals to network and expand their business connections. It’s got all the requisite features and covers wide ground.

    Some questions

How is this site going to make money? Moreover, how does it plan to attract more users? The site stretches itself too far perhaps in trying to cover so many cities. It would do well to develop a few areas first before expanding.
