NoseRub is a decentralized social network. Your typical social network concentrates around a particular subject, say work, school, or videos. It's typically exclusive in the sense that you've got friends and contacts whose info stays within the network—you can't transfer them between spaces unless all your contacts have joined the same networks as you, which is unlikely. So it becomes a job in itself to keep track of your friends' activities and to keep rebuilding your networks for each site. NoseRub is more flexible—their network is defined only by some basic features such as media, links and micropublishing. You can add all your contacts to NoseRub and aggregate your networks in one space. Use any RSS feed as a source to add to your NoseRub account; currently the site supports flickr, Twitter, Pownce, Last.fm and others. Once someone adds you as a contact they'll receive updates on anything you do.
