    Myyearbook.com - You've Got Friends

Looking for the coolest way of hanging out online? Or the best way to find more about the people you see everyday in real life? MyYearbook is an online community full of people you meet or used to meet everyday, the people you might actually be friends with, date, knock their books down, or marry. This community is aimed at high school and college students, graduates, summer program students, employers, and anyone you know.

MyYearbook pretends to become a site you want to use the rest of your life. And by the way, it’s totally free. Among the countless activities that myYearbook members engage in online, you’ll find that users decorate their “lockers”, post homework assignments, upload photos from the big football game, and flirt with each other. You will also find forums that cover a variety of subjects like open discussions, politics & current events, jokes, clubs, organizations & groups, homework help, emotional health, music, lifestyles and much more. MyYearbook has recently launched myMag. Created by and read by myYearbook users, it’s an online teen magazine with the slogan “It’s All About You!” This new activity transforms every interested member into a promising Internet author. Other sections include: quizzes, poetry, humor, videos, battles and dating services.

    Myyearbook.com In their own words

“It all started during Spring Break 2005, flipping through a yearbook in my room and realizing it sucked. This is 2005 - why the hell is anyone buying yearbooks anymore? We wanted more than the typical stuff -- autographs, will, pictures -- although those had to be there too. What would make this site different -- and loved -- is it would be full of the people you know and meet in real life everyday. And it would go with you your whole life. It was real life on the Internet. Then we realized it could be more. It could reinvent real life. It could make real life better. Making it easier to meet the people you see every day. Making it easier to approach the cute girl in a different class. Making it easier to find out who else shares your likes, dislikes, favorite movies, music, Chinese food place, ... Catherine wrote the name down on her notebook, put smiley faces in the "O's." myYearbook was born.”

Why Myyearbook.com might be a killer

Social networking sites are growing at a fast pace. MyYearbook is a young and fast-growing online community that unlike other social networking sites, which make it almost impossible for users to find their friends online, it’s organized by where their users live and who their friends are. It was designed to help its members learn more about the people they might already know or actually have the chance to meet someday. The result is that MyYearbook is a place where members can express themselves freely while controlling who has access to their profiles.

    Some questions about Myyearbook.com

How will MyYearbook be able to compete with big name social networking sites like MySpace or Friendster? Will it be able to maintain its steady growth?
